Infertility Causes In Women
February 24th, 2010One of the most common causes of infertility in women is some sort of ovulation disorder. Ovulation is a complicated process that many of us do not fully understand. It is not just the production of a female egg cell but it is also the preparation for fertilization in the entire reproductive system of a woman. You might notice that you have an irregular menstrual period; this is a sign of problems with your ovulation.
An irregular menstrual period is usually characterized by not having your menstrual cycle monthly, a longer menstrual period when you have it and having no period at all for several months straight.
There are some hormones involved in preparing the reproductive system for fertilization. Among these hormones is progesterone that signals the uterine lining to grow or to thicken to accommodate the would-be fertilized egg cell. Other causes of infertility in women which are connected to ovulation are the high levels of prolactin which encourages the production of milk.
