Loire Wines
June 30th, 2007Situated in western France, the Loire Valley is one of Europe’s most picturesque and romantic winemaking areas and a popular holiday area which follows the course of the Loire River meandering its way from Auvergne and the Massif Central Mountains to the Atlantic coast.
In just one small area to the east of the Loire region around Pouilly and Sancerre the majority of the grapes used for winemaking are Sauvignon Blanc and these are fermented to make the delicious dry, white Pouilly-Fumé.
