How to cut costs in your Wedding Planning
June 2nd, 2010Choose the reception
Couples usually overdo it in this part of the wedding planning. Will a big hotel ballroom be too much or will a smaller yet more intimate place be adequate enough to seat all of your guests comfortably? You can save a lot of money here and instead allocate that budget to more important things like food.
Giveaways
You can save money by designing your own souvenirs. This also gives a more personalized feel to your wedding. I suggest giving away small things with your pictures from the time that you were on vacation or having a date on your favorite getaway.
Video and Photography
I’m pretty sure that you have one or two friends who are really in to photography. I suggest that you ask them to take your wedding photos to save up on budget. For the video maybe you can ask a film student to do this for you they may charge you but not as much as a professional would do.
Food
You can ask for the food packages that your reception is offering usually they are cheaper than having a separate caterer to serve the food. You can also browse through the internet or ask your married friends for suggestions. Compare what you find and select the best package you can find.
On a final note remember to always ask for suggestions from your friends. They may know different wedding services that would serve you best.
