Women Prefer Sleep Over Money and Romance?
July 29th, 2007Women participants in a national survey commissioned by Carpenter Company put sleep high on their agendas. Nearly 30% preferred a good night’s sleep over finding $50 in a coat pocket – 26% picked the cash. Another 20% preferred “romance,†17% preferred a massage, and 12% would rather enjoy a great meal.
Of the men surveyed, a third said they preferred “romanceâ€, but getting a good night’s sleep came in second at 27%. Nearly 20% would take the $50, 12% would pick the good meal, and 8% would prefer the massage.
Other findings from the telephone survey of more than 1,000 American adults included:
• 34% believe the quality of their sleep is worse than it was five years ago.
• 41% said it takes at least 20 minutes to fall asleep.
• 21% work in bed.
• 33% use a laptop in bed.
• 73% of men and 62% of women prefer to sleep with someone.
• 31% have a pet that sleeps with them regularly.
• 67% think a pillow is very important to a good night’s sleep.
• 46% of women and 34% of men replace their pillows once a year.
