Pregnancy and depression can be a serious problem, but it is only a temporary one. With the risks to the baby’s health, although they may be minimal, taking an antidepressant is a risk that should be avoided. There are, however, many medically effective treatments for pregnancy and depression. Pregnant women can use meditation, yoga, gentle exercise, and a healthy diet to decrease the risk of depression.
