Baby Shower Games

An article about: Baby Shower Games

My niece and her husband were having a difficult time coming up with names for the baby. I thought I would use this as a theme for one of the baby shower games. I put different animals on a sheet of paper and had the participants name the male female and baby for that animal. For example chicken, the answer would be rooster, hen and chick. At the bottom of the page I asked each person to also write a boy’s name and a girl’s name, to give my niece some additional ideas….

That Unique Baby Gift

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

There are some great unique baby gifts out there that was mentioned above. My niece was very happy with the special baby gifts that I gave for her baby. She knew where the shop was, but had not gone into it. We made plans that I would go with her during her maternity leave to have the special baby gifts finished off.

Remember that some babies, the louder and more flashy a toy, the better. Electronic toys are all the rage for baby shower presents, even if they aren’t very unique baby gifts. Kids like things with buttons that you can press to make them flash. Just make sure that the kid doesn’t have the same toy already – there’s nothing like a duplicate present to disappoint a young child.

Housebreak Your Pet with Understanding and Firmness: Puppy Potty Training

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Devote Enough Time to Puppy Potty Training

You may want to devote a couple of weeks exclusively for taking care and training your pet before bringing it home so that you can give your undivided and completely focused attention to puppy potty training your pet. This will prevent the pup from taking too much time in learning how to be potty trained and though puppies may take different amounts of time in learning the fine art of puppy potty training, what is essential is that it be taught that its den, any place within the house, should be kept clean and it is necessary to go outside to go potty. This is important to instill the habit early on in the pup s life.

Personalized Baby Blankets for the Unique Gift

Monday, October 29th, 2007

I also love that I am not the one who will be making the personalized baby blankets for my kids. I just need some focus on choosing the right one for each child. It’s a rare occasion when a mom thinks about personalized baby blankets for children she hasn’t had yet.

While chenille seemed like the perfect choice for my infant, I saw something that really took my breath away in personalized baby blankets. The character blankets are the perfect merge between a stuffed animal and a comfort blanket. These personalized baby blankets also have satin trim for the little one to feel.

Baby Christmas Gift – A Gift Of Love From The Heart

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

It’s particularly thrilling for families who are celebrating their baby’s first Christmas during the holiday season.  When you’re looking for a present for the youngest member of the family you can choose from either the more traditional or the not so traditional presents. No matter what you choose remember a lot of these baby Christmas gift items will be treasured for many, many years to come. Naturally, though many babies are known to be more intrigued by the wrapping paper than the gift!

Most people do however prefer the more simple toys like rattles, bath toys, clothes, teddy bears or nursery accessories. While Mom and Dad prepare the Christmas dinner for the guest, baby can be kept entertained with squeeze balls, wind up toys, battery operated toys and other toys that make lots and lots of noise.  After a long and exciting day, it could possible take ages to settle baby down to sleep. A mobile hung over the crib could just do the trick, particularly one that provides a comforting lullaby. Another great gift idea that many people do love for their baby is a music box.

The Perfect Baby Shower Gift

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

There is however, something very comforting about crocheted baby blankets. These are often given as gifts from friends and family, and that makes them extra special. Many times they are made in the colors of your nursery, or can be pink or blue, depending on the sex of your baby. Quite often crocheted baby blankets are something that you will wish to save long after your child has outgrown them. I know that most of the baby blankets I have saved from when my daughter was an infant are indeed ones that were crocheted for me by family  members.

Adult Relationships Take A Little More Thinking Than When We Were Kids.

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

Adult relationships are never easy, but they do at times make more sense than the relationships we have when we are children. Though our relations with our parents are rocky at times, at least they make sense. When it comes to peers, however, things can often be askew. Children often overreact and do things that we would never do as adults, but it is all in the path that we must take. Peer relationships often help us as we grow to understand what is really important, and these are the lessons we take with us into adulthood.

The hardest part of adult relationships is maintaining them, at least at first. As we grow we learn that some things are forgivable and some are not. We aren’t totally sure about these things when we begin having adult relationships, and we have to blunder through some of them as a part of a trial and error progression that teaches us more about human behavior than perhaps we all realize. This trial and error period often come during and after high school, but it does leak into our relationships throughout our twenties and even thirties.

Friday, July 13th, 2007

Diabetes insipidus is frequently confused with diabetes mellitus, which we normally refer to simply as diabetes, and this is not surprising since both conditions contain the term ‘diabetes’.

In fact the two are totally different and unrelated conditions and the only similarity between them is to be found in their symptoms which further adds to the confusion.

Monday, July 9th, 2007

It is not easy to say exactly when homeschooling began but many people quote the example of Alexander the Great being taught ‘at home’ by Aristotle as its birth. However, homeschooling as we understand it today really began in the second half of the twentieth century.

Modern homeschooling is the result of the ideas of a number people who started to question the public school system in the 1960s and in our newest article we examine the role played by three of these people.

Making The Big Decision On Divorce

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

A large number of couples stuck in the stage of divorce or no divorce find this an incredibly stressful and emotionally damaging time, and will often question their decision for a divorce time and time again. Those times of doubting yourself, and doubting your decisions are common, especially when it is a family unit that includes children that will be affected by the split. Going through the motions and considering the idea of reconciliation are very common and for many couples, working things out is a goal well worth working towards, however, for some marriages too much damage has already been done and it is important to prepare yourself for the fact that trying to work through these problems MIGHT NOT WORK, or you may find yourself back in the same position 6 months down the line. This is a tough fact to face, but important if you want to get through keeping your mental health in tact.

If you are currently in the middle of separation proceedings and thinking about working to rebuild your relationship, try picturing yourself being married to that person, forgetting about the damage that has been done. This is the time to ask yourself the question, “can I forgive and forget the past? Can I be truly happy and content in this marriage?” The answer for some couples is yes and working at it as a team, their marriage once again flourishes. However, you need to be objective and weigh the good with the bad so you can determine if reconciliation is truly the right way to go.

You must keep in mind that anything, even fixing a bad marriage, is possible. However, the key to reconciliation is having two people 100% committed to doing what it takes, and working for the same goal of rebuilding a healthy marital relationship. It can be extremely difficult when a situation arises where both parties say they will do what it takes, only to discover that one person truly doesn’t feel the same, or isn’t prepared to work on themselves and the relationship.

These times are incredibly difficult for children. Seeing the pain and heartbreak that comes with divorce is hard enough, but seeing one parent wanting it to work, trying so hard, and ultimately being rejected can lead to a range of emotional issues for children, which will often result in uncharacteristic behavior.
