Central Iowa Tourism builds the perfect date weekend

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

The Central Iowa Tourism Department wants to help you create the perfect date for you and your sweetie. They have put together several packets where a couple can have a romantic weekend without driving too many miles. The packages range from a full blown high class weekend to ones that cost very little. If you want to really impress your girl you can get set up for a two night stay in one of the fanciest motels in Des Moines. The package includes tickets to the Civic Center on the first night and a reserved seat at Prairie Meadows on the second night. They left the daytime open so that you can shop or play as you wish. There are a variety of suggestions for daytime entertainment should you choose to do that. If that’s too rich for your blood, why not try taking a wine trail. This involves traveling to several of the many wineries in the middle of the state and staying at different bed and breakfasts in the area. The only real expense is the cost of the rooms and the gas to travel, there is no requirement that you purchase any of the wines, although they will try to convince you to take a bottle or two home.

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Nice information about miniature christmas lights. Putting up the miniature Christmas lights on the outside of my house, however, seemed like a much bigger challenge. It wasn’t that it is hard to put up Christmas led lights on the roof - they are no harder to put up than any other strand of lights. The real challenge was doing the light display to create the maximum effect. I really wanted to create a look that would be noticed. I wanted my fare share of holiday attention and… read more now about MINIATURE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

Outdoor Christmas Tree | Precautions

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Nice article about outdoor christmas tree. When you apply any type of ornament or decoration to your outdoor Christmas tree, you have to be sure they are securely tied on to the tree. When you hang ornaments inside, you can usually have them dangle from a hook, but those trees do not have to contend with wind, rain, and snow. What you should do is find some type of bendable wire you can use for this purpose. You could also use twist ties that normally come with storage and garbage bags to be sure everything is…read more now about OUTDOOR CHRISTMAS TREE

Personalized Christmas Stocking| You Will Love This

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Nice article about personalized christmas stocking. I actually found a website where you could select a background and then have it decorated with any words that you wanted. It was a great service for someone like me who likes a decorative, personal touch, but does not know much about making crafts. The personalizedChristmasstocking, however, was  the highlight of the season. The year before, we had been forced to use soccer socks with names written in sharpie, so you can imagine what a big step up this was. Everyone had a personalized Christmas stocking that reflected his… read more now about PERSONALIZED CHRISTMAS STOCKING

Photo Christmas Ornament | Use Your Imagination

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Nice article about photo christmas ornament. Of course, there are easier ways to make photo Christmas ornaments than this. I have a friend who makes them out of common household items. She is really into folksy art, and finds a lot of easy and fun ways to make crafts of things that would otherwise be discarded. Old sardine tins, Popsicle sticks,, and many other pieces of packaging and wrapping are all well suited to making photo Christmas ornaments out of. With a little bit of paint and a lot of imagination, you can… read more now about photo christmas ornament

Prelit Christmas Tree | Easy Does It

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Nice info about prelit christmas tree. After seeing my grandmother’s tree and realizing that every year I struggle with the lights, I purchased a full size artificial prelit Christmas tree. I was always amazed at how the strands of lights would get so tangled even though they were packed away so carefully.

And, I no longer had to fight with figuring out how many strands were needed and how to hide the cords decoratively. I don’t have to do that anymore. I simply… read more now about prelit christmas tree

Photo Christmas Cards: Show Your Love For A Distant Loved One At Christmas

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Be sure to do them early. You want to make sure that they get them.

If you forget to do your photo Christmas cards printed early, you may want to reconsider. You may get them on time, but you may not like what you see. If someone is rushed, there is no guarantee that they will come out right, and if they don’t, there will be no way for the photo Christmas cards to be reprinted to your liking. You won’t have time to complain, and if you get them reprinted, they may not get them back to you in time for them to get in the mail when you need them to go out. Think early and get what you need before the rush hits.

Romantic Places

Monday, July 9th, 2007

Of course, some of the best romantic places are right around the corner. As a matter of fact, we patronized almost all of the romantic restaurants Chicago has to offer. When you work hard, you deserve the best in your spare time. Eating a luxurious dinner prepared by a master chef made us feel that the hours we worked were ultimately worth it. You see, when both people work in a relationship, it is hard to eat well when you are eating at home. No one comes home wanting to spend the time to cook up a great meal, and so eating habits tend to suffer unless you go out.
