Accomodating the New Trends in Fridges, Dishwashers, and Other Kitchen Appliances

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Visit and hop over to our really record breaking website for washing machines instructions…

Updating the kitchen can be among the easiest ways to boost the value and comfort level of your dwelling. You shouldn’t think that you will have to totally redo the kitchen either. Simply modernizing your obsolete kitchen appliances can have this effect.

Even though they look the same as they did 30 years ago, kitchen appliances have become by far more energy efficient. New fridges more often than not will have a large amount of new extra features.

The new trend in kitchen appliances, in case haven’t heard, is to have them beneath the counter. Cupboard fronts can be added to kitchen equipment to give this. For another unique touch, you could customize your storage space by adding e.g. anything you think could be useful.

If you and your spouse want a stylish kitchen then cabinet fronts can also be added to dishwashers. The most recent advances in construction have also made dishwashers patently more eco-friendly, too. Instead of high temperatures, the new trend is dishwashers that feature a dehumidifying process which uses less energy and requires a smaller amount of time besides. A fair few families are purchasing more than one dishwasher. They are choosing to put in a pair in a kitchen, often in a kitchen island near a spare sink. As you would imagine, this reduces stress when throwing a dinner party. Separating things this way should add further ease to your life.

The cabinetry itself is going through some interesting trends along with the appliances themselves. Easy to maintain and older are absolutely popular, equally white and shades of cream. Light to medium glazed cherry is steadily replacing oak as the most trendy surface. Another trendy kind of cupboard wood is maple.

You don’t have to bring in the builders to breathe some life into your home when just replacing your current appliances should do the job equally well. With all these possibilities available on the Internet and on TV, digging out something you like could be quite simple.

Design Your Own Ring

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Whether you are searching for engagement rings, wedding rings, or rings for any special occasion, there are literally thousands to pick from. They range from delicate and small to large and majestic. Though there is a large variety to explore, maybe you want one that is truly unique to you. Perhaps you should design your own ring.

There are many benefits of designing your own personal ring. You can combine your favorite elements of previously viewed rings for a completely new piece of jewelery. Given the choice to choose what the style of type also allows you to have a say in price.

Often metals such as gold, silver, and platinum are quite pricey. Custom rings give the buyer the chance to pick a less expensive, but equally dazzling, ring comprised of metals such as tungsten or stainless steel to accommodate your needs. For those who love the classic styling but not the price of diamonds, cubic zirconia can be a viable solution.

A custom ring can also make for a great gift. Making a ring that is customized to all of your partner’s preferences and favorites can create a memorable occasion no matter what that occasion may be.

Having a custom ring created is quite simple. Most jewelery stores offer the service and even have professionals to help in your decisions. More recently online jewelery manufactures have begun to offer this service as well. Often online stores have a greater selection of metals, settings, and styles to choose from.

Choosing to design a personal ring has an array of benefits. They make for perfect, well thought out gifts you and your loved ones are guaranteed to cherish.

Older Women Younger Men Relationships – for Today’s Ultra-Successful Woman

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

There are a number of names for relationships between older women, younger men; everyone knows them, and not all of them are pleasant. Some call them, May-December relationships (he is in the spring of his life, and she is in the winter of hers), or Cougar/Puma relationships, and these are supposed to be the better ones. Calling them MILF romances (it’s unprintable, but look at the movie American pie for details) or Arctic Fox relationships (a really old woman with a much younger man) are in particularly poor taste. But whatever they call them, older women, younger men romances are all the rage now; the magazines can’t stop talking about them, the screenwriters can’t stop making up movies around them, and women and boys can stop acting on the idea.

Women are more successful at making a great living these days, than men are. And that could be a reason for why there is a sudden change in the way women look at men. And the flip side is, men find independent and capable women very attractive too. There’s something about the confidence they have, that they just can’t have wnough of. A young man does have confidence of course, but having an older woman to go to who can see right through your confidence, can be very invigorating. Older women – younger men relationships flourish, because both parties happen to catch each other at exactly the right time. Women, however successful they may be, do have the romantic side always open for business. Young men who haven’t really started their careers in earnest, have the time to indulge this romantic side. Add to that how it feels for a young man to look at a woman who easily achieves all that she has – a great job, a great car, and great looks. To him, she feels like someone descended from heaven, and he lets her know that. If women dated older men as always, they wouldn’t ever have a chance at that kind of heroine worship, now would they?

Being a part of the cougar – puma set, can feel very rewarding. You are someone like Mariah Carey or Demi Moore – you’re naughty. So what you do to get with the times here, if you do have a big cat hidden within? If you happen to know someone who flirts a lot around you, don’t hang back and think it couldn’t really possibly be about real interest. He admires you for knowing what you want, so go ahead and do what you want already. If you are worried about how you probably look older than him and how that will invite derisive smiles from people, there is no need for you to go advertise it right away. And besides, such a relationship should be a great incentive for you to get pounding on the treadmill, to stay in shape and be the best bait you can be. With a take-no-prisoners body, and a regular library visiting habit, you’ll simply begin to realize why the older women younger men thing is all the rage all of a sudden.

Should Wedding Invitations Have + Ones As a Rule?

Monday, July 19th, 2010

All right, here’s something to liven up the conversation the next time you get together with your friends – when you get married, should you or should you not allow a +1 on every one of your wedding invitations? I admit that I wasn’t really keeping up with the times when I got my first invitation that didn’t carry a +1 for my boyfriend whom I’d been living with for longer than the bride had been with her fiancé. It seemed especially unfeeling, since my boyfriend and I had spent some really good times with the couple who were to getting married. So I just popped off an RSVP that said “we” were were really glad, and “we” would show up at the appointed time.

What followed was really embarrassing for me, and much more so for the bride. She stuttered and stammered and said over the phone that there just wasn’t enough space, that things were running seriously over budget as it was, and they couldn’t just change the rules for me when they had left out the +1′s on every other invitation. The next wedding that came up was three months later in the fall. This one was really funny, because it was my sister’s wedding. I slaved away for this wedding, and I still didn’t get a +1 invitation from my own sister. If I wasn’t married to him, she wouldn’t hear of it. I thought that was particularly cutting.

Somehow, – I’m really resentful of wedding invitations that show evidence of a less-than-welcoming spirit. I pay close attention these days, and they seem to use every feeble trick in the box to pare down the number of people who will be showing up. Sometimes they say it’s okay if you’re living in, but only if it’s been longer than three years. But as passionate as I am about this, wedding planners seem ten times more so in keeping it small and trimmed down. They just hate the way that large guest lists can send costs soaring and practically bankrupt everyone involved.

How on earth did weddings get to be such exclusivist gatherings? When did loving people attending seem like an unnecessary extravagance, but not a hundred doves set free or some other silly indulgence? Isn’t this is the worst of commercializing love and all that’s good and pure? The wedding industry has us believing that we need to up the ante on high end weddings with the most expensive crystal, the most precious rose-and-lily centerpieces, and perfectly expensive wedding favors. Meanwhile, we aren’t making any more money than we used to, and we are paring down our wedding invitations list until it looks more like a barbecue than an actual wedding.

A wedding is a celebration; it’s supposed to be about being welcoming – with open arms no less. It’s about having a great party. You don’t have a great party by keeping everyone out and limiting things to the people you absolutely know well. And how much life are they going to bring in anyway? How many times have you seen bored invitees who have been to a dozen of these hanging around and drinking by themselves or fiddling away with their iPhones watching videos? Why not bring some fresh blood into these events – weddings are, famously, places where unattached people look for someone nice. Let’s give them someone nice, and send out as many wedding invitations as possible.

More guests won’t have to mean too much more money. Parties can be about happy people, and not expensive decorations, you know? It only has to get so beautiful before the law of diminishing returns kicks in. So let’s invest our wedding money in getting in lots of people to share the happy event with, and not lots of expensive knickknacks with few people to enjoy them.

Wedding Colors

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Choosing an appropriate color scheme is every couple’s little headache as they seek to agree on a combination that will highlight this special occasion. The colors must be chosen with care since they set the weddings tone and style. They go ahead to spread their cheer to the entire event. The wedding colors will feature prominently in the wedding’s components, which will include the bridal attires, the cake, the decorations, table linens, favors, as well as the wedding cards. It is vital to settle for colors that appeal to the both of you, as it is easier to work with something you love.

There are certain factors that must be considered when settling for wedding colors. It is important to have the reception in mind and choose colors that are not going to crash with what is already there. Some receptions come complete with carpeting, décor, and drapery and it is advisable to pick colors that complement the ones on the ground for a harmonious display. The mood of the wedding is vital and there are colors that will dictate the wedding mood. For instance, bright colors will add an air of drama to the wedding while soft ones will bring out the romance. The season in which the wedding will be held is also a factor when it comes to settling for wedding colors. Lighter colors will be well suited with summer whereas darker colors will be ideal for winter and fall. Using a combination of colors is excellent and one has to settle for colors that tally well with each other. The color wheel will be of great help, as it will help you choose colors that compliment each other.

If you are looking for complimentary colors, it is important to know that they are the ones opposite each other on the color wheel. Monochromatic colors are those that are of the same tone but vary in shade. A good example is a green shade, which can be lighter or darker. Analogous colors are those that are next to each other. One can also employ the use of a color palette generator, which will help you select an ideal combination of wedding colors. A wedding colors tip: less is more, thus, and one must be very keen on picking not more than three colors, otherwise the wedding will look busy and too colorful which could be a turn off.

Other valuable wedding tips are avoiding too much black, as it is a sad color associated with funerals. You do not want your wedding to look that gloomy and so it is essential to be subtle on it and mix it with another vibrant color. A person’s personality matters a lot when it comes to choice of wedding colors and so it is ideal to pick colors that represent the person you are. Some of the themes that can be used include daisy, cherry blossom, and peacock. Some colors that would make an ideal wedding colors combination include brown and blue, yellow and green, purple and green, brown and pink, red and yellow, red and pink, bright yellow and turquoise and blue and silver among others depending on how creative one can get.

Wedding Gown

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

Every bride wants to look smashing in her gown. She will go at great lengths to pick a wedding gown that appeals to her. She has to keep with the times and thus picks a gown that will reflect the changing trends in the wedding scene. Designers always have something for every body type and fantasy. There are many gowns in the market and one need to research well and settle for a gown that matches the budget and preference.

There are various designs that offer a bride a great variety to choose from. One of the designer styles is a mermaid dress. This type of dress conforms to the body shape of the bride giving her a beautiful and shapely mermaid shape. The other type of a wedding gown is a ball gown. This gown fits the bride up to the waist and then goes wild to form a huge ball. This is a fantasy-wedding gown that fits an outgoing and adventurous personality. The designs get simpler with preference. There are those brides who want to keep it all toned down. An ideal gown would be a column. The sleeves are of a balloon kind. This kind of design features a simple narrow dress with no much detail. It falls straight down cutting out fancy details.

An A-line dress is another type of a wedding gown that is comes with capped sleeves and an empire style. It is currently popular with many brides as it comes in a design that makes them look slimmer and taller. It flows all the way down and is ideal for the red carpet. The empire waist wedding dress is another design that brides love. It is very feminine and its lower part is pure luxury. It can also be upgraded by use of embroidery and vintage beads, which enhance its elegance. Strapless gowns are ideal for that sexy and exotic look.

A wedding gown that flatters a brides figure is necessary. With changing times and designs, gowns keep taking new trends. There are gowns that re specifically made for a beach wedding. These are made to suit the weather thus are of a lighter and more absorbent material. Wedding gowns will cost from $250 and get higher as the design and materials get more complicated. Several online sites specialize in the sale of these gowns. This makes it hassle free since one only identifies the dress and takes the necessary measures. These include documenting the delivery details and paying for it. The earlier the better as the dress may require undergoing some alterations. The shipping in time also needs to be noted to ensure that the wedding gown is home in time. The bride can design her own gown and include some specific details that she may want her gown to have. These details may include a different color or design.

The designer will take into account all these details and make something that the bride will love. The gown has to be comfortable to ensure that the bride is only worried about putting her best smile forward.

Wedding Planners in Weddings

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

An outstanding wedding is every girls dream. With changing times, the occasion’s arena has transformed and creativity has taken center stage. It will run on a personal preference most of the time where the bride and the groom come up with their own theme. It could be a melting pot of cultures whereby the couple is from different backgrounds or ethnic groups. This is bound to bring about diversity in how it will be organized. Religion is another factor that will vary it from the usual. Social class is yet another factor which dictates how it will be. A wedding will be officiated by the chosen authority that unites the couple and leads the religious ceremony. The union is symbolized by the sharing of rings, lighting a candle or exchanging gifts. Putting such a big day together is hard work and thanks to wedding planners, the burden has got off the couples shoulders. It could be time consuming for a couple to plan a wedding, bearing in mind all the duties they have at the moment. They have jobs and other commitments that require their attention. Wedding planners will work on the preferences communicated by the couple. This way, they will be in a position to get them what they require for their special day.

Weddings have been referred to as a multi-million business where wedding planners and service providers are smiling all the way to the bank. It is the most sort-after trend nowadays and the more glamorous the better. To have a perfect wedding, proper planning must be done. The locations must be well researched to ensure that the grounds are acceptable. It is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion that must be gorgeous. The color scheme a couple settles for will dominate the wedding. The bride’s gown, the groom’s accessories as well as the bridal party must meet at a point. The decorations will revolve around the chosen colors and this brings about harmony. Everyone has their favorite color and there is nothing as satisfying as basking in its glory throughout the day. The catering has to be excellent lest your guests go home disgruntled.

Weddings are happy events that must be so in all areas. The rings take a central part and they must be well prepared for this day. Engraving them with your names and date is a welcome idea. These special moments must be captured. This where the photographer and the videographer come in. Some wedding planners may also be involved. The idea is to turn these events into an album or video that will be watched many years later to keep the memories of the day alive. Transport is vital and with the various creative means of transport, the day can only get better. There are beautiful customized limousines for hire, horse carriages and even helicopters and private jets. All these will add glamour to the wedding. Music is the food of the soul and playing the right music at a wedding reception is welcome to the ears. It helps keep the lively spirit up and your guests will live to remember this entertainment. The cake is the climax and everyone looks forward to having a piece. It bears the color scheme and will be beautifully done according to the bride’s preference.

Fun Hen Party Games

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Planning for a bachelorette get together, or a Hen party if you are actually from the UK is just about the easiest parts of a wedding to plan. You will find literally hundreds of ideas for activities and a bunch of options for games. Many of those ideas are a bit on the saucy side, but there are lots that that are simply clean fun.

For instance, one well-known bachelorette game involves asking your guests to become poets. Ahead of the party, take 50 index cards and on half, write romantic things, like “roses”, “cuddly”, etc. On the other 25 cards, write very non-romantic terms or phrases, like “nose hairs” or “ironing”. Next have each invitee draw one card from each and every pile. They should then come up with a silly poem based on the two very different words or phrases they have chosen, for instance, “Roses are red, your nose hairs are ewwwww.”

One entertaining game that will certainly engender at least a few laughs is “identify that object”. Take a paper bag (a fabric bag is much better should you have one) and fill the bag with common ‘male items”. The items might include a razor, a money clip, a tie, shoe polish, etc. Seal the bag, or fold it over really well. Then have each and every guest feel the bag and then try to guess the contents. Have them write their guesses on a sheet of paper. As soon as everyone has had an opportunity to feel the bag, the contents are revealed and the person with the most number of accurate guesses will get the bag of male-oriented objects.

Bachelorette/Hen party activities are not only meant to bring fun to the celebration, but often to help individuals get acquainted with one another. This can be a good chance for the bride’s closest friend to get to know the sister of the bridegroom, or for the bride-to-be to get close to the groom’s cousin or relative. Therefore an icebreaker game isn’t a bad strategy.

This is not perhaps the most intellectual of an icebreaker game, but it will likely break the ice early on in the evening before you head out to other events. Have fun with a game known as “I have never…” and find out exactly who takes the most drinks. And so the first woman says, “I have never…” and completes the sentence. The women that have succesfully done the one thing the first woman says she’s never done have a drink. Then the next lady claims to have “never” done something.

Some suggestions for this game are: “I have never …” *Lied about my age *Lied about my weight *Shoplifted *Got a speeding ticket *Ran naked through my house

Repairing Relationships At Work

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

If you happen to have a fallout with someone at work, you will soon see how complicated your working life has just become. Unlike a romantic partner, you can not just break up with someone you work with, unless you are already unhappy in a bad job and wish to leave anyway. If you love your job and don’t want to go anywhere, having problems with a coworker can make your life miserable. Though it can be hard, you have to think about how to go about repairing relationships at work. They may never be the same, but things can get better.

How hard repairing relationships at work may be depends on what happened. If you took credit for someone’s work that you had no part in, someone you work with is going to feel quite angry with you on a professional level. If you went out for drinks with a coworker and saw them do something embarrassing, and then you promptly told everyone about it the next day, the damage is on a more personal level, but it can have a bad effect on your working environment. Both are tricky situations, but there are some things you can do to turn things around and repairing these relationships.

You have to first realize what you did wrong. You can not go about repairing relationships if you do not realize what you did to someone else was hurtful and should not have been done. You can not apologize and make things right if you do not feel that you did anything wrong. Understand, from your coworkers point of view, what you did and how it hurt them. Once you are truly understanding and sorry, repairing relationships is so much more easy. If you are insincere, it will show when you try to make things right.

If you have stolen someone’s ideas, or perhaps fumbled on a project and blamed someone else, you have to approaching repairing relationships at work with humility and with professional calmness. The coworkers in question must be willing to hear what you want to say to them. Start with an email, telling them that you want to talk. Go to your boss and tell him or her what you did and how you intend to repair things. Then talk to your coworkers and be as sincere as possible and offer solutions to make things up to them. It won’t always work, but you have to try.

On the other hand, if you have made a professional booboo that involves someone’s personal life, repairing relationships won’t be quite as hard on you professionally, at least not now. However, you never know where someone else may show up in your career in the future. Talk to them about what you did and how bad you feel about it, and then when you hear the gossip circulating, do all you can to nip it in the bud, even if you have to say you made it up or exaggerated. You may look a little silly for a while, but repairing relationships at work that can take a toll on your career is much more important.

Building Relationship Trust

Monday, July 12th, 2010

When you first meet someone, and you get the feeling that you would like to get to know them better, you make a snap judgment about trust right from the start. You do not realize you are doing it, but you are. If you feel that you can not trust someone, that is going to dampen any hopes you may have of a relationship. If you feel that you can trust someone, you may start dating, but that is only the beginning of the equation. Trust should be given, but relationship trust has to be built over time. It can be the deciding factor in the longevity of any relationship.

There is always, or should always be, some relationship trust in the beginning. If you feel that you can not trust someone right from the start, there is probably a reason for that feeling. That is a sign to walk away right away. If you feel that they are trustworthy, they have to prove it to you time and time again, just as you will have to prove to them that you are trustworthy as well. Think of relationship trust as something that grows each and every day and that is the foundation for a great future. Without it, you have nothing. A good relationship is impossible without trust.

Some people think of relationship trust as knowing someone will not cheat you on with someone else. While this is a huge part of trust, there is simply more to it than that. You have to trust that a person will never lie to you and never do anything that will cause you pain. That covers a huge variety of things. Trust can be broken in many ways, but it can also be repaired, depending on the extent of the damage. A long term affair may deplete relationship trust forever, but lying about spending money on something can often be repaired. Most have a threshold of what they will endure and what will break the relationship in half for good.

Sometimes, the amount of relationship trust needed depends on how long you have been with someone. Those that have been with each other for a long period of time have a better chance of overcoming a breach of trust than those that have been dating for only a short time. Sometimes, though, the breach is harder on those that have been together for a long time because they have built a lot of relationship trust and the breach is too much to bear after so long together.

If there has been a breach of relationship trust your life, think long and hard about what you want to do about it. Some easily give up their marriage or long term partnership before they really think things through, and they later regret it. Give yourself and your partner some time. You will know if they are truly sorry or if they don’t care. That will help you make the right choice. There are great books and plenty of therapists out there that can help you rebuild relationships if you wish, and some can end up being better than ever after a traumatic event.

Great Relationships At Work

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

Perhaps you have learned the hard way about how to keep your relationships with your coworkers on an even keel while you are at work. This is something that some people know how to do instinctively, but others have to learn what they can do and what they can not do to maintain good relations. However, learning to have good relationships at work with your superiors can be even harder. Knowing when to speak up and when to stay quiet can be hard, but can also be something you can learn through thoughts and by learning from those around you.

Relationships at work with your higher ups can be hard to navigate while you are on your first job. This is when you have no idea what you are doing and what is acceptable. What you can do, for your very first experience, is to think about how you treat your parents. You may have made mistakes, but think about what you think they wanted from you and what you should never say to them. This is a great basis for starting out with a new boss for the first time. You can then feel the person out and learn more about boss and employer relationships.

Sadly, not all relationships at work are going to be fair. You may get a boss that is very friendly, loves to tell you jokes and hear yours, and cares about what is going on in your life as it affects your job. Others are very closed off and even snotty about their position, and the last thing you want to do with them is to tell a joke or mention that your parents are moving away and you feel strange about it. Always start off cautiously to see what your boss shares with you, and then share a quarter of what they share in return. As time goes on, you learn and fall into a comfortable boss/employee relationship that works for them and you.

Some bosses are very business like, but are also very kind. They may laugh at a joke, but it may also not sit well with them that you are not serious at work. Others may see you being too quiet and they may wonder about your skills. These are questions about relationships at work that may only be answered through experience. You may also find what one superior likes does not go over well with another. Understand that you are going to make mistakes. Just make sure you learn from them.

If you are thrown in and are not sure about relationships at work, be careful who you ask for advice. There are going to be coworkers that are going to love to help you, but there may be a few that want to make sure you do not get what they think they have earned. Observation is the best way to learn about each boss or superior. You will soon learn about how to talk to them, what you can say and what is best left unsaid, and even better, when they are at their best so you know when to present new ideas and when to ask for a well deserved raise.

Where Does Insecurity In Relationships Come From?

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

You can only hope that when you find someone to spend your life with that you have found peace, harmony, love, and understanding. Many people toss around the phrase ‘soul mates’ but often in the wrong way. No relationship is easy, and those that think love and marriage are fun and easy are the ones that end up divorced. No matter what happens or how much you love each other, there are going to be times when you have to deal with insecurity in relationships in your life. Learn where these come from and what you can do about them.

Insecurity in relationships often comes from a simple and fixable source, but many couples have trouble really pinpointing that source. They always think the feeling comes from something the other has done, but most of the time it comes from a feeling within themselves. There is always a problem that brings up these feelings, but the root of them goes further than the actual event. If you can not figure out why you are feeling so insecure or why your partner is feeling that way, the empathy needed to fix the problem will never arise. This ends many otherwise promising relationships.

Imagine for a moment that your spouse or partner has had what you think of as too close of a friendship with someone of the opposite sex. Though nothing physical happened between them, they were relying on them for things they should have been coming to you for. In other words, they had an emotional affair. This is one very common reason for insecurity in relationships, but does not have to mean the end of the relationship. It depends on if someone is sorry and willing to fix the problem, and also if the hurt party can overcome insecurity.

In this situation, when the offending party comes clean and makes the changes needed to save the relationship, there is no reason why it could not continue, sometimes better than it was. However, this is where insecurity in relationships can make or break the union between two people. The person who was hurt has earned time to heal and to ask for changes they need to feel safe, but if they have deep rooted trust issues, or experienced infidelity in their parents marriage, these insecurities can prevent them from forgiving and moving on. If the offending partner does not realize, know, or understand this, it is quite possible that all is lost.

On the other hand, if these insecurity in relationships feeling are made known, both partners can better understand what needs to be done if the relationship is to be saved. Those with the trust issues have to speak up and let their partner know how deep the wound goes and how they have a history that leaves them prone to distrust and pushing away people that cause them pain. Not all relationships can be saved, but when both partners want to save it and are honest to the point of feeling vulnerable to the other, things can continue and thrive from then on out.

Emotional Abuse

Monday, July 5th, 2010

Emotional abuse is also referred to as psychological abuse and it is subjected to one person by another who is seeking to control them. The emotionally abused person develops fear of the other person out of constant verbal abuse, disapproval and criticism among others. People who inflict emotional abuse on others do it through intimidation, manipulation and humiliation as well as instilling fear. By doing so, the victim looses their sense of identity, self-esteem, confidence and self-concept. They become brainwashed and stop being themselves as they loose their personal value. They feel useless and unworthy and thus become unrealistic and in many cases find fault in only themselves and not in the abuser. They feel that they deserve the abuse and cling to the abuser with apologies as they seek acceptance for mistakes they never did. They also feel alone and feel that they are worthless and no one can accept them and this is the major reason why they stay in abusive situations.

Emotional abuse comes in many forms one of them being abusive expectations. In such a scenario, the abuser makes unrealistic demands on the victim. Such demands include too much attention whereby they demand the victim to be with them even when it is not called for. The sad thing is that they never seem to get enough no matter how much they get. The abuser may then result to constant criticism of the victim if he does not get what he wants and this is what amounts to emotional abuse.

Aggressing is another form of emotional abuse where the abuser becomes aggressive to the victim. This can be through threats, name-calling as well as blaming them and accusing them of unrealistic things. Aggression can also be used in form of criticism, which is intended at belittling, controlling and intimidating the victim. Constant chaos is initiated by the abuser whereby he picks up arguments and portrays drama addiction tendencies. The abuser will keep on causing conflicts unnecessarily. Denying is another form of emotional abuse where the abuser withdraws emotional support when it is mostly needed with the intention to hurt, punish and humiliate the victim. The abuser also denies ever hurting the victim and withholds through punishing and withdrawing from the victim. The abuser goes dumb and deaf on the victim and this is referred to as the silent treatment.

Emotional abusers also seek to control their victims through domination, which leads the victim to loose who they are. Emotional blackmail is another tactic employed by abusers whereby they play on his guilt, fear and values to get what they want. The abuser also takes on validation where he terms the victims concerns as reached out of being ‘too sensitive’ since they do not want to acknowledge the reality. Emotional abusers are often people who went through abusive relationships as either children or grownups. They become aggressive and brutal out of their own experiences got from an abusive home. These abusers also tend to be people who are too jealous and too possessive and result to controlling others thus abusing them emotionally. Emotional abuse can lead to depression, low self-esteem, isolation, drugs and substance abuse as well as withdrawal from reality.

The Trials of Local Dating

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Just ten years ago, local dating was all that anyone did. There were places where people went to meet other people, and sometimes there were dating services that people could use for meeting local people. Today, more and more people are meeting people online and falling in love, and many of those people are not necessarily living within ten minutes of each other. If you want to do dating with strictly local people, you have to find the right dating sites, or you have to know where to go in person to meet those that best fit your personality.

Local dating is not as simple as it seems. Just ask any of your single friends how hard it is to find the right person with what seems like such a limited selection. They may even tell you that after local dating for so long that they fear all of the good ones are taken. This is not true, of course, but the good ones can be hard to find. You have to open up your options and think differently if you are having trouble meeting anyone of any quality. Dating is hard, but meeting someone worth dating is even harder.

Bars and clubs are common places where people go to meet other people for local dating. The trouble with these establishments is that you are rarely meeting someone who is sober, for one thing. That is hard because you don’t know if you are meeting someone who drinks all of the time, or if you are meeting someone just like you who is out of ideas as to where to meet new people. Many in bars are not looking for long term relationships, but rather some casual flings. That may be the furthest thing from your mind, but you may not know their intentions until you have a broken heart.

Instead, think of other places for local dating that most fit your lifestyle. This means finding people who have kids if you have kids. This could be at a school or church function, or perhaps at the playground. If you have a hobby that you love, there is no better place to find someone like you than when you are engaged in doing that hobby. If you love to golf, for example, go solo and ask to be paired up with other golfers that have come alone too. You may meet someone this way.

Don’t give up on friends and family. They may have tried to make local dating easier on you by fixing you up, and it may have backfired. This does not mean they are not going to get it right just once, and that one time is all that you need. You do not have to take all of their recommendations, but at least give them some thought. You can also find dating sites online that are for local dating only. Sometimes, this is where other quality singles are searching when they too are tired of bars and fix ups. It’s becoming the new way to find good old fashioned love.
